Join a short workshop on knowledge mobilization, community engagement, and practices from implementation science

Define the local challenge of your interest and community relevance, and identify a community organization addressing that challenge

Run a rapid review and produce a community knowledge publication using ScienceReach's templates (and AI tools where appropriate)

Share your draft with a peer and do a peer review for a student partner.

Obtain feedback from community professionals: Either prepare a question guide and join a 30-45-minute online conversation with a community professional, or obtain feedback about your publication via email exchangeYou'll receive templates and examples for each step.

Conduct an analytical analysis using the taught frameworks for the Author's Notes

Revise and finalize materials based on partner + ScienceReach feedback for publishing online

Q.01Is this paid?+
This internship is an unpaid educational program. It does not constitute a work arrangement with the participants. Course grades may be applied when the internship is integrated into a course.
Q.02Standalone vs course-integrated - what is the difference?+
Course-integrated means your deliverables count toward a course assignment/grade; standalone is outside a course.
Q.03What's the application process?+
Start by using the readiness assessment and then register through ScienceReach. After you register, we may follow up to ask for a brief note about your interest in the internship experience.
Q.04How do I choose a community organization?+
You can propose an organization you care about, or we can suggest options depending on availability.
Q.05What support will I receive?+
Workshop, supervision, mentorship, templates, examples, and feedback from ScienceReach, peers, and community partner.
Q.06How do recommendation letters work?+
ScienceReach may provide a recommendation letter to the top 20% of participants based on a rubric covering deliverable quality, responsiveness to feedback, and professionalism in partner communication.
Q.07Will my publication be public?+
It is uploaded to ScienceReach after review/approval; details depend on partner consent and quality checks.

Publications produced during the Micro-Exp must go through the editorial revision process. They must meet our standards before being published on ScienceReach.

We've designed the internship to remove the risk of signing up before you know it's right for you.

Completion-supported.

If you're not on track to publish at week 3, your editorial supervisor extends your timeline by up to two weeks at no additional cost.

The Micro-Exp Internship is designed to result in a published CKP. If, with your supervisor's support, you're not able to complete one, we don't keep your fee.
