Submissions
There are two ways to publish a Community Knowledge Publication (CKP) with ScienceReach: through the Micro-Exp Internship, with workshops and mentorship, or through the standalone CKP Publishing Service, for authors who publish directly. Both follow the same publication standard and the same review process.
Submission checklist
Before submitting, confirm that the draft meets each point below.
- The CKP follows the required structure and length, and covers the issue, the affected community, and the programs responding to it.
- In-text citations are numbered in square brackets, for example [1], and each one matches an entry in the reference list.
- References follow APA 7 and list 30 to 40 diverse sources across academic, government, and community sources.
- Every source is publicly available or academic, and has been verified through a working link.
- The writing is plain language and uses Canadian spelling.
- Any use of AI tools has been disclosed, and the author wrote the publication.
- The featured organization has been contacted and given the opportunity to review the draft for accuracy, where applicable.
- Permissions are held for any third-party material, such as figures, images, quotations, and data.
- Author details are complete: name, email, and affiliation.
Author guidelines
A CKP is a short, plain-language, peer-reviewed publication that profiles a community issue, the affected community, and the programs and organizations responding to it, grounded in cited evidence and written for a community and practitioner audience. Templates and a reference-style guide are provided. The full review process is described on the Editorial Policies and Publication Ethics page.
Copyright and licensing
Authors retain copyright in their original contributions. On publication, ScienceReach is granted the rights to publish, maintain, and distribute the CKP, which ScienceReach releases in open access under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY). The full terms are set out in the CKP publishing agreement, which the author signs before publication. For how to cite a published CKP, see the How to Cite page.
Privacy
The names and email addresses entered on ScienceReach are used only for the stated purposes of the platform and are not shared for any other purpose or with any other party. See the Privacy page for details.
How to submit
Students join through the Micro-Exp Internship. Authors publishing directly start with a free scope call through the CKP Publishing Service, then submit their draft for review.
